General Liability Insurance

Your business supports you, your family and your dreams. It deserves to be protected! General liability insurance is a form of insurance for your business that will protect your company’s assets if it is sued for causing property damage or personal injury to others. Being sued is probably the last thing on your mind until it happens.

General Liability insurance typically provides coverage for damages arising out of bodily injury, property damage and some personal injury such as libel, slander and defamation of character. It also provides some Medical Payments coverage that provides first-party, good will coverage to pay medical expenses in an effort to avoid a lawsuit down the line.

You can purchase general liability insurance on its own or as part of a business owner’s policy, or BOP—which typically bundles liability and property insurance into a single policy. General Liability coverage can include insurance for your business premises and operations liability for onsite; jobsite accidents; as well as products liability to cover any claims for products that may cause injury to others. Determining just how much coverage you need will depend on the amount of risk associated with your business.

Insurance Industry Definition:

A form of insurance sold to businesses to indemnify the business for third party liability claims due to negligence. Coverages can include premises and operations liability for onsite and jobsite accidents and products liability claims for products that injure third parties.
